in short: Pheromones have a specific role in communication between humans; they modulate mood, memory and the autonomic nervous system responses and increase their significance within specific behavioral contexts.

Additional Notes: Pheromones are not triggers, but modulators. If a person isn't interested in you, using pheromones without additional action may not produce maximum results. However, if a partner is genuinely interested, pheromones will strongly enhance this feeling. If a person is sexually aroused, pheromones will intensify this feeling by as much as 200%!
